There were smiles all round when the final whistle blew in Gothenburg last Tuesday. The points were shared between world number two Sweden and Katie McCabe’s Ireland. Sweden, despite dropping points for the first time at home in 12 years, officially qualified for the Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand next year as the point was enough to secure their place. Those in green though, were equally elated and rightfully so. There was something a little special about this performance from Ireland.
